Lake House with The Markham Family!

This past weekend we went to Lake Travis with our friends Desiree and Ryan and their 2 kids Aidyn and Kendyl! We had such a blast with them and I think the kids had an even better time :) I grew up with Desiree and we have been Best Friends since the 3rd Grade!! It is so crazy to see the 2 of us all grown up and with children. It's one of those things we always talked about growing up, but we never thought we would get that "old"!

Easter!

We spent the day before Easter at MawMaw & PawPaw Simmons' house with the whole family! We kinda had a mixed Celebration... March, April & May Birthdays & Easter! It was a blast & the kiddos had so much fun together :) We ate & ate & ate candy and hamburgers & hot dogs & sweets & more sweets!!!

Easter weekend we took Brett to a field of Blue Bonnets before going over to MawMaw and PawPaw's house. Here are just a few of the pics we got of him :) Is my little boy not adorable or what?!?!

Brett's new Goldfish!

One of Brett's little friends, Hattie, just turned 2. Her B-day party was a fish theme (Nemo) and her parents, our friends, Kari & Darren, gave all the kids Goldfish to go home with! Brett has been in love with his fish, Nemo and Dori, since the second he laid his eyes on them :) We had to go out and buy them a little tank and all... it would break my heart to see his face the next day if they were belly side up.

Grammy & Grandad sent Brett his Easter stuff and one of the gifts were Thomas the Train books. Brett was so excited and wanted to read his new books to his fish!! He is going to be such a good big brother :)

A Trip to the Zoo!

We took Brett to the Fort Worth Zoo the week after Spring Break! It was PERFECT! The weather was warm and breezy and there were not a lot of people there!! Brett has been to the Zoo a couple times, but this time was the BEST! He really really enjoyed all the animals and was talking about what they were doing, what they eat, what color they were, and the sounds that they make. He really is very smart for his age (and I'm not just saying that because I'm Mommy!)

Brett's 1st Fishing Trip!

Today after Alan got off work he took Brett fishing for the 1st time! My little boy is growing up so fast :) Just look how freaking adorable he looks in his little camo hat and life jacket. On the way to the lake, Alan stopped to pick up some minnows & that was enough for Brett... Alan asked Brett if he was ready to go fishing & catch some BIG fish, Brett said, " No, I got small ones!" They had so much fun!!

The Sweetest Thing :)

This morning about 7am, Brett crawled up into bed with me. He is so sweet when he just cuddles up to me and we get to relax for just a little bit longer before we get up. This morning was extra special... Brett was just laying next to me and very softly he said "Mommy, you beautiful!" Oh my heart just melted! I had to ask him again what he said and of course he said it again, "Mommy, you beautiful!" I said, "Brett, are you saying beautiful?" and he just looked at me and said "Yes." Now, if you know my kiddo, you know that his "Yes" is the cutest, sweetest, most, innocent "Yes" in the whole world!
I love my life! I love my family!

Alan Hunting

Alan, Jerod, Justin, and Keith went hunting at Jerod's deer lease this past weekend. The lease is way up in the panhandle about 6 hours from here. They had a great time though! They drove through a blizzard on the way there and had no heat all weekend... sounds like fun...huh?!?! Glad I was at home in my warm house with Brett!! :)
